This unique pen is made from the internal wooden structure of a 1940's bomber, an actual plane that can be traced back to WW2, being built late in the war in 1945 in the de Havilland factory in Downsview, near Toronto. It entered service with the Royal Canadian Airforce in February of 1945.
The actual aircraft has since been restored, flying again in 2012.
The Mosquito was one of the fastest aircraft in the world in 1941, capable of speeds in excess of 400mph, and served in several theatres of war for the Allied air forces.
This pen comes complete with full certification, a quality presentation box, and a velvet sleeve for transportation. Its an elegant design finished in gunmetal and chrome.
as with all hand turned pens, each pen is unique with marks, grain and colours. As this was part of the wing many of these pens will have unique marks of nail holes or fixing marks which are of course smoothed and filled in my workings, and give even more individuality to each item.
Each pen comes numbered on its certificate as I only have a small number.
