Unique ballpoint pen handcrafted here in Scotland from a piece of rare bog oak from thousands of years ago.
One of the most intriguing, historic and enigmatic of timbers from the British Isles, this piece of wood was brought out of a peat bog in Cheshire, and dates back from 3000 to 6000 years ago at a time after the Ice Age when widespread flooding submerged vast swathes of forest, drowning the large trees and eventually buried them in swamps where certain conditions led to preservation of the timber. Wind forward and the land got drained for cultivation and these preserved giants were again exposed, dried out and treated.
This pen is part of a small collection and is certified as to its origin and history.
It has a nice weight and takes good quality Parker type refills, and is a joy to use. With its Celtic pattern and its antique rose copper finials, this pen really is unique and tells its own story of British history. A lovely gift, or addition to your own collection.
It comes complete with a free velvet pouch of your choice.
